SSH Automatic Login or ssh auto-login

It’s an updated version on of my old notes. I have a requirement of backing up some important files and folder having 13GB size to my backup server.

I used my old note and it seems little complicated even though I have done this many times before.

This is the best tweaks,

Suppose your desktop has the ip 192.168.0.20 and remote server has 192.168.0.56 ip.

From your desktop
1.

# ssh-keygen -t dsa

2.

# vi /root/.ssh/id_dsa.pub

To remote server,
1. ssh login to the remote serer ( here 192.168.0.56)
2. copy the content from your ” vi /root/.ssh/id_dsa.pub” to the servers “ssh authorized_key file that’s it.

[user@remotesvr]# vi ~/.ssh/authorized_keys

Save and quit from the terminal.

Testing,
try ssh to the server from your desktp

[user@localvr]#ssh 192.168.0.56

, You simply get in
